Legal and data protection
How School Run handles a school's data, written to Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019.
Who is who
The school is the data controller. It decides which children are on which route, who may see the roll and what parents are told. Fleetr Edge Technologies Ltd is the data processor: it runs School Run on the school's instructions and does nothing with the data on its own account.
A parent's questions go to their school's transport office, never to Fleetr Edge Technologies Ltd — the school holds the record and the school answers for it.
- Privacy Policy What School Run collects about children, guardians and staff, why, and what a data subject may ask for.
- Terms of Service The agreement between Loopy Labs and the school, including what School Run is and is not a guarantee of.
- Data Processing Agreement The written processor agreement the Data Protection Act 2019 requires between a school and Loopy Labs.
- Sub-processors Every third party that touches school data, what it touches, and where it sits.
- Retention Schedule How long each kind of record is kept, and which of those periods a scheduled job actually enforces.
- Privacy for parents The short, plain-language version for guardians: what the school sees, what you see, and who to ask.
